History

Havelock-Belmont-Methuen, Ontario was originally home to the Michi Saagiig Anishinaabe people. It was settled by Europeans in the early 1800s. Havelock-Belmont-Methuen Township was formed on January 1, 1998, through the amalgamation of Belmont and Methuen Townships and the Village of Havelock.

Havelock Country Jamboree

Parks & Playgrounds

Havelock-Belmont-Methuen Township offers several parks and playgrounds for families to enjoy, ranging from small neighborhood play structures to larger parks with pavilions and picnic areas.

Havelock Farmers' & Artisian Market

The market runs every Friday from the end of June until Thanksgiving from 2 pm until dusk. Located on Highway 7. 

Mathison Property

Covering 250 acres of natural scenic forests and wetlands, this area boasts 1.6 kilometers of multi-use trails for walking, biking, ATVing, and snowmobiling, as well as 1.1 kilometers of dedicated walking trails.

Petroglyphs Provincial Park

North of the Township, on Northey's Bay Road, lies "The Teaching Rocks," a sacred site and the largest known concentration of Aboriginal rock carvings in Canada.
